Are you sometimes driven mad by Dora’s “It worked, it worked! Yes we did it! “Chant? Or do you sometimes think that the umpteenth episode of Maya the Bee might cause your children serious damage? Or do you just want to offer your wee kids a wider horizon? Then Saturday, March 21st is just that occasion, because Japan-Square offers your direct and indirect descendants a complete kid’s afternoon with a selection of wonderful short films in the cinema and crafting fun in the cafe.
Made by students of Japan’s most prestigious art school, the Tokyo University of Arts, these videos provide a wealth of themes and character styles; one in sweet pastel colors, the other in outright anime style, stories about the wildness of nature and about the love of a sister for her baby brother. Often without words these gems break through any kind of language barrier, which allows more space for strange new worlds far removed from the every day shrill Dutch voices and commercial story structures.
Geidai Animation Kids Selection:
And since we all know that our wee ones can’t sit still for very long we’re organizing a animation crafting session in cooperation with Jekino in the Skoop Café! An inspirational afternoon guaranteed!
