What do you get when you combine five nerds, a transvestite and an obsession with jellyfish? In addition to a very bad joke also a hilarious, absurd comedy. Based on a popular josei manga series (comic books aimed at women) “Princess Jellyfish” offers a whirlwind of Japanese pop culture and humor.

Tsukimi Kurashita is an anime / manga nerd (otaku) with an obsession for jellyfish. She works as an illustrator in Tokyo and shares a house with other otaka girls. Safely away from reality they let their obsessions rein free and they share a fear of confident fashionistas. During an epic battle in the pet store Tsukimi wants to save her favorite jellyfish from certain death, she meets Kurako. She is a fashionista who turns out to be Kuranosuke the cross dressing son of a local politician. With his / her help Tsukimi and her nerdy roommates do battle with the developers who want to tear down their house. But what can five nerds, a transvestite and a jellyfish obsession achieve against all odds?
