In the context of the ‘Year of Japan’.
The project “Snake Dance – The Recital” consists of a screening of the film “Snake Dance” (75 min)
followed by a piano recital by Japanese pianist Jun Kanno (35 minutes).
Snake Dance is a documentary by Manu Riche made in 2012.
The film tells, by means of a journey through 3 countries (Congo, New Mexico and Japan), the genesis of the atomic bomb.
The uranium from Belgian Congo, the science of New Mexico and the experience from Japan.
The film is a reflection on the deliberate choice we made in connection with the atomic bomb and which has terrorized us for 70 years.
The musical program consists of works by Beethoven and Chopin, played by Jun Kanno in the film. The music that was also played by physicist Otto Frisch in Los Alamos during the launch of the bomb on Hiroshima.
