Looking for the most exciting film of Japan-Square 2018? Then plop down in one of the plush seats of Studio Skoop for Memoirs Of A Murderer. The film focuses on five unsolved murders from the 90s that have haunted detective Makimura throughout his career. Just after the case expires, the perpetrator seeks the spotlight with his confession. The entire mystery seems to be solved after barely fifteen minutes, but rest assured: you will remain glued to the screen for the remaining 112 minutes. Although your eyes should not be too tender for the explicit violence of this film.
Anyone who has ever seen the South Korean Confessions Of Murder has a considerable head start in knowing how the chopstick is attached to the handle, because this Memoirs Of A Murderer is a remake of that film from 2012. But a game of ‘spot the 10 differences’ is of course always amusing.
Based on Confessions of Murder (2012) by Jung Byung-gil.
