地蔵とリビドー

Outsider art is mainly known to us through the extensive collection of the Museum Dr. Guislain. In the documentary Jizolibido you will meet some exceptional Japanese artists who work in Atelier Yamanami in Koka, not far from Kyoto. Director Yoshiaki Kasatani shows how these people with a mental disability or psychological disorder deal with their creativity in an inimitable way. Fascinatingly beautiful, because art is more than bananas and duct tape.

Photographer Rob Walbers, who exchanged Overpelt for Tokyo a few years ago and who also provided the poster image for our festival this year, collaborated on this documentary.

Also watch the video introduction by director Kasatani!
