Okiku and the World

Okiku and the World is the latest from veteran director Junji Sakamoto (Knockout, Face), in which we follow two excrement vendors in the final days of the Edo period.

A jidaigeki (historical film) with a special scent, but also the circular economy in its early form and an unexpected spark of hope and love, when a samurai’s daughter falls for one of the dung boys.
