3/11 Kids Photo Journal

3/11 Kids’ Photo Journal 2014 Weekly Planner is a photography project by children affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Since its establishment in June 2011, children from Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefecture have been taking photographs, writing about the progress of the recovery in their hometowns, and as a result, giving an insight into their daily lives and how much it has changed since the disasters. These children express the realities of life in the affected areas from their own points of view, which are motivated by a strong desire to share these realities with the rest of the world. Through the photographs taken by children, we sincerely hope that many people will give their thoughts to the long journey to restoration, recovery, and community regeneration in the affected areas and that as a result, the circle of support and sympathy will spread.

Before the screening of the film Odayaka, Luk Van Haute will give the floor to Naoko during the introduction, who will further explain the concept of the 3/11 Kids Photo Journal 2014 Weekly Planner.
